Love you, CΓ©line! πŸ’– Image shows CΓ©line Dion sitting on a wheeled (posh) hotel luggage trolly looking ever-glamourous in a black tracksuit with mulberry-purple stripe running down the sides of the arms, torso and legs. She has white velcro trainers on and her arms over her head with her hands draped over a rail of the trolly. She beams at us with a wide sweet smile. The trolly also contains bags of luggage overhead which are loaded with things. To the right of the frame, we see one hand gripping the side of the luggage trolly, perhaps to pull CΓ©line, or to secure the trolly from moving whilst the photo is being taken. Ahh, i really hope CΓ©line is doing ok. πŸ’œ

Hi friends, i hope this meets you with tenderness and ease, wherever you’re at.Β

I get so shy to share my more β€˜personal’ writing, but i really want to keep practicing that, and where better than this sweet portal? Going to take a deep breath (join me?) and share a little poem(?) i wrote from the road. Or rail. From the seaside to St Pancras then onto Paris, where i moved a few weeks ago!Β

I also recorded it as an audio post (it’s 5-and-a-half-minutes long and contains earnest impressions 🀑 - lol) so you can listen if that’s more accessible or preferred. Or both?! do what you feel babes! I’ve shared the poem just as i wrote it, thought it might be a fun exercise in RAWDOGGING (although i think i’ve just learned what that word means so perhaps i’ll stop saying it with wild abandon at any opportunity! πŸ₯΄ …But it feels so good to SAY, rrrroaardogggging. sorry.)

So i’m going to share this πŸͺž poem of noticings πŸͺž (audio and text version), as well as a playlist for the road titled, πŸš‚ toot-toot! a playlist for the (N)eurostar πŸ›€ which, even if i say so myself, contains some ABSOLUTE BANGERS which i hope will lift your mood and offer a rhythmic anchor to your moment. i’ve been enjoying writing to it (been writing a guide to travelling whilst being neurospicy, so it felt especially resonant!) as well as soundtracking my morning bathroom discos, but use it however you like!

Expect a lot of my fave French disco (from late 90s to present), but it’s also littered with Detroit techno, new-no-wave, Arabian dub with pepperings of Swedish, Dutch, Belgian and Philly-sounds, plus some energising, comforting and sometimes-nostalgic tunes from other genres inspired by movement, whether by train, meat-suit, or other vehicle. ✌🏽 oh, it’s also contains my second-favourite version of Tracy Chapman’s β€˜Fast Car’. Vroom-vroom! (is this too old a tiktok reference?) and it’s 3-and-a-half-hours-long.

Some context to this poem-playlist offering: When i experience sensory overload out in the world, i reach for my notebook / notes app on my phone and write what’s in front of me. Or i listen to something, a meditation (and music is very much that for me!) Somehow it seems to channel hectic energy into one place. Keeps me here. Brain-body a team!

Question: Curious to know, what do you do to channel your focus, especially when overwhelmed?
